If the lawn got too high I just raised the height adjustment (*one knob) and then mowed twice with the 2nd pass being lower. This only was needed to be done once when I came back on vacation. The rear bag worked OK, if the grass is wet you migh have to take it off and push the grass to the rear of the bag once between empties. The best part is no gasoline, plug it in and go and just beware of the cord. Once I learned to mow "away" from the cord I moved right along.
