I have them out in the sun on sunny days, in a cocoa lined pot, and bring them in on cloudy/rainy days and they are under grow lights. The cocoa liner is so that I can transplant it into it's final place without disturbing the roots. I love the way the plants are looking. Im from south dakota. We get bad snow and ice storms here each year so this plant will definitely be remaining potted for its life. I do landscaping for the university of south dakota and most will be donated to the school once mature. I use a shallow and wide square pot with a professional seeding mix. Put the seeds on top of the soil as directions indicated. Took awhile but we finally have signs of life 5 seeds sprouted out of the 20 so far. However many of the other seeds we started are being sluggish as well and we think it might be the seed starting mix. We use a warming table set at 75 degrees and i cant stress how important this is for a plant like this. You must be able to keep the soil tempterature up fairly high.
