I made this purchase after much research as to types and brands. The customer reviews on this item is unusually positive and based on them I took a chance and purchased it. It is a solidly built unit and very pleasing to the eye. My hubby was able to put it together by himself in a matter of two-three hours and that was because of inclimate weather. We anchored the unit to our deck. The only concern I have is sudden strong wind but only because several customers had the tarp top blown off in strong winds. Depending on the time of year we too experience forty to fifty mile winds but in that case I know to remove the tarp top. If you are looking for a dependable gazebo, you should consider this unit. The price is more than reasonable and it has good shade coverage. Looking forward to pleasant times outside.

My kids put up the gazebo for me. I am absolutely delighted with it.

I had done a LOT of research on ALL gazebos and the reviews about them.

This one stuck out as being truly a good buy and a strong unit.

I fount it here and did not hesitate to buy. Glad I did.

Although it was a very heavy piece of construction and it would take 3 people to erect it properly, we are very happy and pleased with the look and quality of the Madaga gazebo. It has yet to survive a rainy season, so we will see how it holds up in a few months. We followed all the review responses and that was very helpful – especially the comment about putting sand in the poles after mounting a base at the bottom. We added the Madaga sectional piece to the “cabana like” atomosphere and we get alot of comments. It’s beautiful and makes you want to be outside all the time.

I purchased this gazebo last summer, and after 3 months of use in central NY, the top of the canopies faded to a purple color from the sun. The parts of the screens that were exposed to the sun also turned purple. After contacting Sunjoy industries, they mailed me replacement canopies and screens! (included in the 1 year warranty). The metal frame is very sturdy and can withstand strong winds. (I live on a hill and it is very windy!) However, the corners of the canopy became unstitched from strong winds around 20mph. After reinforcing the canopies at the corners with my sewing machine, they were fine. I also made sure to take the corners off during high winds. (drove my husband NUTS!)

Next summer, I will make sure to reinforce the corners on my new canopies and spray them with sun protectant. Make sure you save your receipt and take these precautions!

Pros:
1-attractive
2-sturdy frame
3-company stands by their product

Cons: (can be prevented with treatment)
1-fades in the sun
2-corners come unstitched in strong winds

I purchased this Gazebo in July 2009 – Loved it! But, due to the recent snow storms,my roof collapsed, tore the canopy, etc.

I am searching for the replacement parts for the roof – but, no luck yet.

If you purchase this item this spring/summer, please be aware of the possiblity of a heavy snow bending and breaking your bars! I just thought it would slide off the top – nope.

If you have any idea of where I can purchase the bars, please let me know!
