I was not sure about this purchase since the battery and charger was not included. Because I do not have any Makita tools, the total for all three was around $200. As a blower, it works as advertised. Very lightweight(portable), and quiet. It has three settings, but I just keep it on high since the other two setting just limits how far you can sqeeze the trigger. The harder you sqeeze, the faster the speed(variable). No Trigger lock for long jobs. Does a good job on lightweight stuff like sawdust, dry leaves, grass clippings. Does not blow out enough air volume to be usable for wet or a large pile of leaves. I've never needed or used the full capacity of the battery at one time, so I can only guess that it lasts around 10-15min?

Charger is very high tech with several status lights, and has an internal cooling fan that comes on when the battery is charging. I'm always nervous when the charger is more high tech than the device.

Instructions says blower can be used as a vacume by placing the rubber tube on the intake port, but the dust collection bag for the blower port is not included. Not sure where to get one. Not sure I want one because it would be awkward to hold as a vacume tool. Plus not sure the blower fins/blades can handle occasional hard debri.

I originally wanted to buy the WORX Air WG540.5 Blower, but it was backordered, not available, or had very long shipping time. This Makita was the only other blower with Lithium-Ion battery I could find. Although costing twice as much as the Worx Blower, I decided to buy this Makita blower because I could receive it very quickly, and it had good reviews as well as reputation. Who knows, maybe it will the start of a new tool line for me :-)

I gave it only 4 stars due to the high cost, and lack of supplying the dust collection bag.

If you can read you would know this blower does not come with a battery. That's why Makita tools are so great. If you have other tools from Makita like their combo pack, you don't need other batteries. I already have 4 batteries, and I don't need more. I can save money because I don't need a case, or another battery to bring up the price on the blower. I also bought the Makita FlashlightMakita BML185N 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Flashlight, and I was able to save money because it came without a battery. Do you see now why it's nice to buy a tool without a battery. I've seen so many people give a bad review to a product, because they didn't understand or read the description.

As for the blower it works great. It small, but surprisingly powerful. I use it to blow all the saw dust off of my tools. I was surprised to see that it's strong enough to blow leaves off the side walk too. The plus side too is that it's quite compared to the gas powered blowers you see people use on their lawns. If you have a small property I would recommend this over the gas power ones. Your neighbors will thank you for not waking them up when you use this.

I just love this mini blower. I blown out my carport
before the gardener come over. Also I blew out all the
dust under my refrigerator. Nice. It's a small blower and
great for tight areas. I don't have a garden. But if I
did it would be great for vegetable garden or delicate
plants and flowers. It has adjustable speed. I just love
it! Not good for large projects. Great for clean up such as
garages etc etc etc!

This is not a heavy duty leaf blower, and once you accept that....it is a great tool.
During the week I keep it in my truck to clean up job sites, clean off my miter saw and blow out the truck bed at the end of the day.
On the weekends i clean the deck and driveway of grass clippings and debris...all with no cord hassle or 2 cycle racket.
I love the thing.

There should be more disclaimer that the battery is sold separately. I ordered a trimer/edger and it came with a battery but this blower did not. With all the sophistication of this website, there should be more notice that battery is not included except in the title line.
