We love to do whole chickens on the BBQ and by using these sissors to cut the back bone out we are able to neatly and quickly flatten out the chicken preparing it for cooking. A little olive oil, salt and pepper and you have a great meal ahead.

Bought my wife these scissors for Christmas and she loves them. They make quick work of cutting all chicken and turkey parts.

I have been working in the restaurant industry for 15yrs. I recently have been working in a kitchen that serves alot of lobster tails. I bought these shears primarily for that, and I am an avid barbecuer. I have been using these shears at work for 2 months now and have probably cut 600 lobster tales with them. These beauties show no signs of slowing down. They are incredibly comfortable and really have alot of power(they cut easily with little effort). I really like the locking mechanism and its location. Not too fond of the spring, but have had no trouble with it. I have read reviews on here about having problems with the shears not opening far enough. All I can say about that is, if the shears aren't open far enough to cut something, then maybe you should chose another tool. Working with food is like working with anything, chose the right tool for the job. As for cutting chicken skin and similar materials, these will do it, there is just a certain technique to it. You can't expect to cut the skin as quickly and easily as you would bone, they are completly different. I have used many, many different shears in the kitchen ranging from a $5.00 pair on up to very expensive Wustaf and Henkles. In my opinion, these shears outperformed the Henkles and worked at least as well as any Wustafs. I would recomend these shears to any one. I cant speak of longevity yet, but I expect these to last a long time.

I really read and tried to check out these Poultry Shears. They had good reviews.
<br />What a waste of money!!! They already broke. They did not even last 30 days. I feed my dogs raw so I need good shears. Now I have to save up to buy another pair. Unless you just want to have these in a drawer "Please do not waste your money". I will think twice before I ever buy any product from OXO GOOD GRIPS again.

Guess I watch too much Food Network, after seeing Guy cut out a chicken back bone and now it lays flat, got to have this one in the kitchen, and Amazon wasted no time getting to me...
